In the Brooks/Coulson phone hacking trial it has already come out that the two were having an affair for years! Without commenting in any way on the phone hacking itself – which is a matter for the courts to decide – let us nevertheless take on board the implications. These pair headed newspapers that constantly bombarded us with moral outrage as they exposed the sex lives and infidelities of numerous others. And all along they themselves were apparently shagging each other silly behind their partners’ backs – one affair that was notably NOT exposed in their rags, curiously enough.
The hypocrisy alone here is surely staggering! Why the hell should anyone treat the rantings of these rags at all seriously? How can anyone with a few functioning brain cells do so? And yet, on all political forums I have ever encountered that are less erudite than this one, one frequently stumbles across bigots and phobes of one kind or another who quote the Daily Mail or some such rag like it is the freaking bible! How can anyone be so stupid! But one needn’t look very far to find people who are! How utterly depressing!
